Although New Day Impact is mostly active in Eastern-Europe, we also have projects in Brazil. In 2014 we built a children’s centre and now, in 2019, we have finished replacing the sanitation for the elderly women’s centre.
Widows and elderly women are vulnerable in Brazil. Women of ages between 60 and 90 years come together for activities, meals, sports and help with filling in forms and pensions in the VEM’s centre. Loneliness is tackled and the women feel loved again.
The centre was in poor condition. However, the new sanitation is also accessible for wheelchair users and incapacitated elderly.We are super grateful that this project (except for the painting job) has been finished!
