On May 31, 2023, the Roeispijkers rowed the Ringvaart Regatta. At 100 kilometers, it is the longest uninterrupted rowing marathon in the world. The students love rowing and wanted to do something for others. So, the Delft students rowed to raise a lot of money for Emiljano and Elisabeta’s house in Albania.
They lived with their three children in a single room that was in terrible condition. The house was actually too dangerous to live in, the roof was largely collapsing and the toilet didn’t even have a roof. In the meantime, a complete makeover has taken place. Their house looks beautiful, they now have a kitchenette, a shower with toilet, and sofa beds have been placed in the living room! Emiljano, Elisabeta, and their three children are overjoyed and very grateful!
During the Businesswise trip in October ’23, the house was officially completed. To celebrate this we threw a big party with the family and neighbours!
