A cow, a goat, educational materials, tuition fees, or groceries – all things that make a big difference for families in Albania and Kosovo, but which they are far from always able to afford themselves. We support these families through Family Care projects.
In this way, we have been helping a number of people and families in Albania and Kosovo for years. Out of compassion and to combat poverty and injustice. The Family Care projects originate in several ways. Sometimes one of our partners approaches us with a specific family situation and asks if we can be of assistance. Other Family Care projects have arisen from one of our trips. For example, because participants build a personal bond with families they meet and whom they wish to support on an ongoing basis.
PARTNERS
Together with our local partners, we assess the needs of the family in question on a case-by-case basis and determine what is most helpful. Support with basic necessities is important, but sometimes it is even better to arrange a work experience placement for the father or to pay the school fees for one of the children – so that our support truly contributes to a better future for a family. Contacts are always made through reliable partners in our project countries. Donations go via NDI to our partners, which means that people never receive financial support directly from NDI.
